On Saturday, October 5th, Antelope Valley Canyon Tours had the privilege of hosting a thrilling half marathon as part of the renowned Grand Circle Trailfest, organized by Vacation Races. With runners from all over eager to experience the beauty of our iconic canyons, the event brought together participants who pushed their limits against not only the challenging terrain but also the unseasonably warm temperatures.

The race kicked off early in the morning, with a vibrant atmosphere as runners gathered at the starting line under the soft glow of the rising sun. Despite the warm forecast, spirits were high as participants prepared to traverse through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the region. The half marathon course, weaving through scenic trails and offering panoramic views of the surrounding canyon, tested both seasoned and first-time runners with its rugged beauty.

As the day progressed, temperatures climbed higher than anticipated, hovering above the usual cool October norms. However, the warm weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of the runners. Each participant showed incredible determination, powering through the dry desert air and occasional uphill stretches that punctuated the course. Aid stations, stocked with water and electrolyte drinks, provided much-needed relief, while volunteers and spectators cheered the runners on at key points along the trail.

The finish line was a place of triumph for all. As runners approached, there were signs of exhaustion but even greater joy as they crossed the line, some with arms raised in victory, others with expressions of pride after completing such a demanding event. The sense of accomplishment was palpable, and many participants stayed to cheer on their fellow runners as they completed the course.

It wasn’t just the half marathon that made the day memorable. Grand Circle Trailfest, being a multi-day race series, attracted a community of trail enthusiasts who shared stories, encouragement, and camaraderie. The unique desert landscape, highlighted by the dramatic rock formations and winding paths, was a source of inspiration and awe for both participants and spectators alike.
